Hillary studied film and theatre at the University of Southern Maine, where she studied acting under Emmanuelle Chaulet. In New York, she continued her training in the Meisner technique at the William Esper Studio under Suzanne Esper, with additional training at T. Schreiber Studio and The Freeman Studio. She also studied improv at Upright Citizens Brigade under Jeff Hiller.
Hillary is drawn to naturalistic, psychologically complex performances and work that explores intimacy, relationships and the contradictions of human behavior. She maintains an extensive movement practice spanning yoga, Pilates, barre and dance, while her experience developing her own material informs an intuitive, emotionally grounded approach to performance.
Recent work includes Linnea, in which she stars and which she also wrote and directed; an experimental feature by Franco-Colombian-Brazilian artist and filmmaker Paula Gaitán reexamining Glauber Rocha’s Aesthetics of Dream; and Border Line, nominated for Best Drama at the 2023 Atlanta Women’s Film Festival.
