Coming from a long line of musicians, Hillary grew up in a musical family and developed an early knowledge and appreciation of music. Her mother played in punk bands throughout her childhood, shaping a particular love of punk and its offshoots that continues to inform her work as a DJ and filmmaker.

For over a decade, she has DJed throughout New York, playing bars, restaurants, hotels, private events and brand events, including for The Row and at venues such as Ace Hotel and The Standard.

Like her work in film and styling, her approach to music is rooted in world-building, using timing, mood and atmosphere to create a distinct sense of place. In addition to DJing, she curates playlists for bars, restaurants and other spaces. Her sets move between post-punk, new wave, synth-pop, Italo, dub and other leftfield sounds — cinematic, sexy and a little sleazy.
